WAGE: $13.28 per hour/classified non-exempt

HOURS: On call, as needed

  • Bilingual Spanish/English: high degree of fluency required in English and Spanish, both written and oral

  • Ability to accurately translate written information from English into Spanish, if applicable

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, staff, and the public.

  • Knowledge of Hispanic culture

  • Must be enrolled in the Child Care Division’s Central Background Registry

  • Must obtain an Employee Health Appraisal (which includes TB screening)

  • Valid Oregon driver’s license and available transportation



  • Provide interpreting services to Head Start and Early Head Start families and staff: attend home visits with family service and education staff; attend appointments with families and staff for interpreting purposes; provide interpreting for parent meetings; assist staff and parents with health and education screenings.

  • Provide interpreting support in the classroom as needed; assist staff with basic Spanish phrases and labeling.
