Kids and Company of Linn County (Kidco Head Start/Early Head Start) provides a comprehensive preschool program in Linn and Benton counties for children from low-income families and children with special needs. Kidco Head Start is now accepting applications for the following position in Linn and Benton counties:

WAGE:         $11.32 per hour (6% increase for bilingual Spanish/English)/classified non-exempt

HOURS:        32.5 hours per week/September through early June annually

  • HS Diploma/GED, some college coursework preferred.

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in professional level clerical position, including reception and moderate to advanced clerical support.

  • Experience establishing effective working relationships with parents, staff and public.

  • Demonstrated strong organizational, record-keeping, and computer skills

  • Must be enrolled in the Child Care Division’s Central Background Registry

  • Current First Aid/CPR and Food Handlers cards within 30 days of hire

  • Must obtain an Employee Health Appraisal (which includes TB screening)

  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred

  • Valid Oregon driver’s license and available transportation; must meet agency insurability criteria for driving program vehicles.


Customer Service/Reception: · Utilize judgement in responding to and prioritizing reception situations (in person and on the phone) and making decisions to select the most appropriate course of action within established procedures; Direct and transfer calls to appropriate individual or other center, agency or resource as appropriate;· Provide program materials to families seeking information about Kidco Head Start; Greet center visitors, monitor sign in and out as required; Project a calm and positive demeanor at all times, including when dealing with upset or angry people; Direct inquiries from the public to the appropriate person, center or agency, Maintain neat and orderly work-space and common area.

General Center Support: · Receive, review and route incoming mail; process outgoing mail;· Receive and route facility repair requests; Order and maintains inventory of center supplies within established procedures; At the direction of the Operations Supervisor, create reports and compile data; Data entry support: center and program level; Facilitate the logistics of observation and practicum student activities; Provide general facility tours to LBCC students;
