Kids and Company of Linn County (Kidco Head Start/Early Head Start) provides a comprehensive preschool program in Linn and Benton counties for children from low-income families and children with special needs. Kidco Head Start is now accepting applications for the following position in Linn and Benton counties:

WAGE:  $15.23 w/Bachelors, $14.07 w/Associates degree $13.52 w/CDA (6% increase for bilingual Spanish/English) classified non-exempt

HOURS:  40 hours per week /August through June annually

  • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field with course work or training in infant/toddler development that meets Head Start requirements, or current Infant/Toddler CDA.

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children age 0-3 in a developmentally appropriate child care setting.

  • Experience in planning and scheduling developmentally appropriate classroom and individual activities for

  • children.

  • Sensitivity to individual and group needs of adults and children in target area; knowledge of family dynamics.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain written and computerized educational record keeping systems in an organized and accurate manner.

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, staff and public



Classroom: provide safe, consistent, positive classroom environment; utilize developmentally appropriate practices to individualize child and group activities, provide primary care for identified group of 4 infants/toddlers.

Recordkeeping and Curriculum Development: develop balanced lesson plans, adapting curriculum to meet individual goals for children, maintain up to date child files, to include observations, screenings, assessments and individual plans.

Leadership and Training: provide guidance to teaching team, supervise and monitor volunteers, practicum students and parents that visit your classroom; provide training and support to your classroom team by providing ongoing, constructive feedback.

Home/School Partnership: conduct regular home visits and parent-teacher conferences to promote understanding, support and encouragement.
